Studying the Fair Information Practice Principles and the implementation thereof is crucial to make sure everything is ship shape with the multitudinous privacy laws that guard personal information.

Additionally, I concur to the Individual Redress Principle. That's the one that demands people have the right to legally guard enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who knowingly or unknowingly break the law.
This rule demands not only that persons have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals can go to the courts, buildings, or government agencies to look into or prosecute violations by data processors.
CAN SPAM Act
The CAN-SPAM Act is a decree that lays down the rules for commercial email, makes demands for commercial messages, conveys recipients the right to have emails halted in their tracks from being sent to them, and delineates severe discipline for bad boys who disobey.
